Something about me: I started actively keeping bees in 2020 and through the patience and instruction of a mentor and others with the Worcester County Beekeepers Association, I’ve learned how to keep my hives over the winters and grow them through the summers.

From March to November, my bees forage in woodlands, fields, farms, and gardens. At home they enjoy a lawn full of weedy treats, and wild raspberry and concord grape flowers on the wood’s edge. In spring and early summer, they gorge on crabapple and several tulip poplar trees. In summer and fall, hives grow and swell with honey. In winter I donate to WWF and sponsor colonies in other countries.

The bees’ energy is contagious and their hum makes me feel grounded and peaceful.
